The goal of this advanced jewelry-making class is to enhance students’ understanding of the fundamentals of jewelry-making so they can make their own wearable designs. Our process begins with sawing, filing, soldering, polishing, hinge making, and other traditional fabrication skills. With these skills, students conceptualize and create their own design!
Session 1: Jan 10 – Feb 14
Session 2: Feb 28 – Apr 3
In this 5 week course, Intermediate students have a chance to move on to more complex and advanced projects that were introduced in Jewelry 1. We will focus on hollow forms, and hinge making techniques with flexibility to add in more demonstrations as deemed necessary. Each student will make one hollow form with a hinge out of copper following instructions from the teacher, and a personalized final project, discussed and approved with the instructor on the second week of class. Materials not included. Jewelry 1 or previous provable jewelry experience required.
Custom workshops are available as well, including: wedding ring workshops, teen welding intensives, and more!
