Mold Making and Metal Casting

Description

This 8 week class teaches beginner students how to use basic mold making skills to cast aluminum and/or bronze. Students learn wax sculpting, mold making, casting, finishing, and patination. The lost wax method with ceramic shell is utilized to create sculptures, seal stamps, bookends, or other functional objects.

While this class is intended for beginners new to the process, experienced students are welcome! If you have taken this class before or already have foundry experience and would like to pay by the class, please contact us.

Thursdays 6-9pm, 2/1/2024 – 3/21/2024

Custom workshops are available as well, including: wedding ring workshops, teen welding intensives, and more!

*** If you have a sculpture that you would like to make a mold of or you would like to learn mold making techinques or you would like to cast in plaster, resin, cement, paper, etc into a mold, then this is the class for you!  We will be offering a mold making class in the spring. This class is a great class to take in preparation to the Foundry, or metal casting, class. We will not be pouring metal in this class. Cancellation Policy:

• Cancellation at 7 days prior to the first class will result in a full refund minus a $25 processing fee.
• Cancellation at 6 days or less will result in a refund of 50% tuition or the full tuition can be used towards a different class within 12 months. The student is responsible for any differences in tuition or materials cost.
• Students who neglect to cancel prior to the first class will have the option of transferring their tuition to another class or receiving a 50% refund. NO refunds will be made after the first class runs. Please make sure you fully understand what you are registering for prior to the class.
